So you have a favorite game site you want to share with the world on
your website? It is easier than you think. In this lesson, you will learn
how to link your page to the rest of the world.
You find a great site at Crayola.com, and want to share it with younger
children that visit your site. The language will look like this: <a
href="http://www.crayola.com"> Then you must describe your link and follow by the closing tag: </a>

Now I will do another one that you can check out. Remember since we are working
in a browser, hrefs should take us directly to our link.
A great site to see science in action
The href is the specific address of the page you are going to. It appears
in the title bar on the top of your browser. Do you know what it is technically
called? Yes! It is called a URL. Say the letters
U R L. And what does that stand for? Uniform
Resource Locater.
That's a mouthful! I just call it the address.
Can you make links to five favorite web pages you know? Here's a hint.
You have to have the URL exactly right. Use your control "C" keys to copy
the address from the web, and paste it into Notepad while using control
"V". If you almost get the address right, it will still fail.
It is sort of like telling me that you live in California. You eliminate
a bunch of the world by saying California, but if I am coming to your
house for dinner (I like steak), I am not likely to find your house. I
need the exact
address in order to get my steak (medium rare, please).
Imagine what you can do now! Each of you can build a web page and link
to each other's pages. You can create your own set of shortcuts to take
you directly to your favorite sites. Have fun and try it out!
And that's all I am going to say about that. For now, anyway.
