The Game

Badminton has to players and they are in each side. There also can be teams of two on each side. They play at opposite sides of a rectangle court. The court has a net in the middle. They score if they hit the shuttlecock over the net and it hits the opponents half of the court. The opponents may hit the shuttlecock the shuttlecock is the target for the opponents. The feathers on the shuttlecock help it go straight. Shuttlecocks go faster then a ball because of the feathers.

The shuttlecock is different then other racquet sports. Shuttlecocks have a really high speed than other balls in racquet sports. It goes faster because it is affected by the wind. Competitive badminton is played indoors. Badminton is also played outdoors as a beach game.

History and Starting

Badminton was also played in ancient Greek time. The early form was played in ancient Greece. In the 16th century in Japan there was a related game called Hanetsuki. In the west badminton started from a game called battledore. Badminton started in 1873 in the badminton house. The game was called "The game of badminton" but now it is called badminton. English ideas were allowed when the bath badminton club did it.
