George Foreman
George Foreman was born on January 10, 1949 in Marshall, Texas. He went
on to win an Olympic gold medal for boxing as well as two heavyweight
titles. George Forman is one of the greatest boxers of all time.
George had an outstanding amateur career finishing at 22 and 3 a winning
percentage of 88%. He was an excellent fighter. The highlight of his amateur
career was winning the 1968 gold medal in boxing.
George Forman's best punch was a devastating right hook to the jaw. If
you got hit you would be badly hurt. In his professional career he went
85 and 5 with a winning percentage of 94%. In his pro career he won two
heavyweight titles.
The "Rumble in the Jungle"
was an epic fight. Mohammed Ali had loosened the ropes. So he would not
feel the impact of Foreman's powerful blows. In the eighth round Mohammed
Ali knocked out George Foreman. It was also called the ''Thrilla in Manila.''
