The Field and Teams
Hi my name is Shahroze and I'll
tell you really interesting facts about cricket. Cricket was founded in
England and now plays in more than 100 countries. A cricket match has
two teams. There are usually 11 players on each team. It is played on
a grass field in the center, and the yard is twenty-two yards (20m.) long.
A wicket is at each corner of the pitch and is used to target.
How to Play
The bowler throws the ball at the
wicket .The bowler, a person from the team bowls a hard leather, fist
sized ball. It is 5.5 ounces. The bat person guards the wicket. The bowler
has to throw the ball, and the ball should bounce, the batsman will hit
the ball to protect the wicket from going out of place.
The Area
The key action is in a special place
of the field which is mostly the center. That place is called the pitch.
At the corners of the "Pitch", there are the wickets. The wickets
are the targets for the bowler. The runner gets a score when he runs how
far the pitch was after hitting the ball. You can't score any more runs
when you have already scored one run. The ball then returns to the bowler
again. When they play a game there are about fifteen players on the field.
There are two "umpires" that fix the rules. There are two batsmen,
one of them is the striker, and one of them is the non-striker.
