One of the makers of the snow board was M.J. Burchett. He invented it for his daughter as a toy. He made it out of two skies and a rope and too secures his feet by putting clothing on his feet. It was called a snuffer over a half a million people bought it. He even made competitions with the new board even Jake Burton took place in the competitions. He thought of making a snow board by going down a hill with a sled.

Jake Burton was very serious about skiing. After breaking his collar bone in a car accident he couldn't ski in competitions any more. Then a man named Dimitrije Milovich started making snow boards and opened his own business after sliding down a mountain on a cafeteria plate in collage. His company is named Winterstick he makes several boards he even got articles in the Newsweek, Playboy, and Powder. His first boards where made out of laminated wood. He got the idea for his company by watching surfing.
