Rules

Hi, my name is Matthew. Today, I am going to tell you about ten-pin bowling. Have you ever played bowling? Well, if you have, you will still learn a lot of facts about bowling. In bowling, you get ten frames to hit down as many pins as you can. Each frame you get two tries to knock over ten pins. If you knock over all the pins on the first try then you get a strike. If you knock over all the pins on the second try then you get a spare. At the end, you add up all your scores and see what your score is.

The Ball
You use the bowling ball to hit down the pins. A bowling ball has to be a certain size and weight. A bowling ball has to weigh less than 17 pounds. A bowling ball also can't be bigger than 2 feet 3 inches. There are 3 holes in the bowling ball for your fingers to go in. The ball is very smooth. There may be many different designs on the bowling ball.

The Alley

The alley is when you throw the ball and hit the pins down. It is made out of "Pin Deck". The alley has bumpers if you want them, so it doesn't go into the gutters. It has dots on it, so you can aim better. The alley is very smooth. It is 60 feet long and 41.5 inches wide. Hope you learned something about bowling! Go play bowling now! Bye!
