Hi, my name is Matthew. I am here
to tell you about tennis. How big is a tennis court? A tennis court is
78 feet long and 27 feet long between the singles lines. It is 36 feet
wide between the doubles lines. The net is 3 feet high in the middle and
3 and ½ feet high at the ends.
Lines
Now I am going to tell you about
the lines on a tennis court. The net is in the middle. The baselines are
at the end of each side of the court. The service lines are between the
net and the baseline. There is a line that connects the net and the service
line. A small line is on the baseline in the middle.
Tournaments
I already knew about this information
because my family plays lots of tennis. My dad went to Tuscan to play
tennis. My brother went to Alameda to play a tennis tournament last weekend.
Now let's start talking about some pro tennis tournaments! There are four
main tournaments called the Grand Slams. They are the Australian Open,
French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. The Australian Open is played
on Plexicushion. The US Open is played on Deca Turf. Wimbledon is played
on grass and the French Open is played on clay. Hope you learned something
about tennis! Read more to learn about other sports. Bye!
