Hi, my name is Carter and I am going to talk about emotions (feelings).
For example, when you get stolen from, you get mad or angry and you
also want to pulverize the guy
who stole your stuff.
When someone hurts your feelings, you sometimes feel sad or afraid.
When you get
a surprise birthday party, you feel surprised or excited. When you get
an A+ on a report you feel relieved.
Okay, back to the subject. Your
brain has a little bunch of cells on each side called the amygdala.
This area of the brain looks like a walnut
and is Latin for walnut.
Scientists
believe that the amygdala is responsible for emotion. It's normal
to feel all different kinds
of emotions, good and bad. Sometimes you might feel a little sad, and
other times you might feel scared, or silly, or glad.
Emotions can be good or bad, but when they are good, you
are usually happy.
