A
headache is an irritating sensation that you feel in your head. This
sensation can sometimes be painful or a dull ache. Headaches
are usually caused by stress. Stress
is when the body is irritated by
external or internal factors. An example of external factors could be
when you are exposed to coldness, loud noises, wind, or injuries. Some
examples of internal factors include nausea, dehydration, sickness,
tiredness, or dizziness. When
you are
stressed,
sometimes your head hurts.
Headaches
can also be caused by eating
cold items like ice cream. This is usually referred to as a brain freeze.
A brain freeze is caused when something cold touches the roof of your
mouth. The
cause is a dilation
of nerves
in the head.
The dilation is
caused by a nerve center located above the roof of your mouth.
When
this nerve center gets cold, it over-reacts and tries to heat your brain.
Fortunately,
these kinds of headaches usually last about thirty
seconds.
Headaches can be relieved by using medication, therapy, or products.
Some people cure headaches with sleeping. There are also people who
suffer from constant headaches. It is best to talk to your doctor if
you develop problems with headaches.
