Hi, I'm Keilen, and I'm going to
tell you about the Respiratory System. Did you know that there are 12
ribs on each side on the body?
The Respiratory System is a very
interesting part of the body. The lungs take up all of the space in your
chest. Also they are the largest bones in your body. The lungs are a bit
squashy from the outside. On the bottom of the lungs is your trachea and
there is two large tubes that branch off. At the end of the bronchia tubes
is the little things called alveoli's. Alveoli's are the little sockets
of air that holds that air at the end of the bronchiole. The capillaries
cover the alveoli's.
Then, we did a respiratory system
model called BOB in 3rd grade in Mrs. Eberle's class. We cut out paper
and used it to make BOB. We used it for showing at open house. It was
a lot of hard work.
Next, when you breathe your ribs
open up, so you can inhale more air when you need air. Once you breathe
in the air it goes down your windpipe. Then it branches off into the capillaries
then into the alveoli's.
