Hi. My name is Katrina. I will tell
you about the CN Tower. The CN Tower is the world's tallest free-standing
structure, and it is in Toronto, Canada. It is three times the height
of the Seattle Space Needle. It is about 1,815 feet tall and as heavy
as 23,214 huge elephants. That is very big! It was built at a very fast
pace-18 feet per day.
The CN Tower was designed with the
help of a wind tunnel, and it can hold up to 260 mph wind gusts.
The Sky Pod is a seven-story structure
and built around the base of the tower. It is 1,100 feet high. It was
lifted up into place as one unit. There is a pair of 10-ton counterweights
that is attached to the mast of the tower to avoid it from swaying too
much. My teacher calculates that all the students in the school weigh
7 and a half tons. That means the counterweights are heavier that all
the students in the school!
Presently, Toronto's 16 media signals
are transmitted from the CN Tower. Those are some stuff about the CN Tower.
