The Great Wall of China is goes from Shenanigan to Lop Nur, China. It is 5,500 miles long, 7.8 meters high and 5 meters wide. Now that's one huge wall! It is so big that you can see it from space!

It was constructed to defend Beijing from attacks. It was built in the 8th century.

How it was built

At first it was made from pressed earth (mud) and wood. Then they started to use stone and bricks. It must have taken a lot of time! Some of the wall has been destroyed because of construction.
