Hi, my name is Katrina, and I will tell you about clay soldiers. Some people say it's the eighth wonder of the ancient world and that is why I'm writing about it. These clay soldiers were found by Chinese farmers. The Chinese farmers were digging for water. Then, they found these clay soldiers. In the hole were thousands of clay soldiers. They were there for about 2,200 years. I think that is why it is an ancient wonder.

Some people might wonder who built the clay soldiers, so I will tell you who the archaeologists thought built them. They thought it was the first emperor of China, Qin Shihuangdi. His grave was close to the soldiers. The emperor killed many people. He probably wanted the clay soldiers to protect him from the peoples' ghosts. The people who were alive and didn't like Qin Shihuangdi destroyed the clay soldiers. Some people tried to rebuild the clay soldiers. I got this information from the National Geographic Kids magazine in the November 2009 issue.
